Primary Focus:

Lead and work as part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for establishing, implementing and maintaining the GTM Damage Prevention (DP) Program that is compliant with regulations, corporate policies and the GTM Integrated Management system (IMS)
Ensure damage prevention processes, procedures, practices and documentation are harmonized across the GTM organization
Establish and report to senior management on program controls, performance metrics and overall program effectiveness for GTM & S&R organization
Lead and support the Damage Prevention Team to accomplish goals and drive continuous improvement

Responsibilities:
Program Accountabilities

Collaborates with internal stakeholders to design and implement practical and effective damage prevention policies and processes
Ensures Damage Preventions processes, procedures, practices and documentation are harmonized across the GTM organization and completes quality control and assurance checks on various activities executed in support of Damage Prevention
Ensures the program is compliant with Federal, State and Provincial regulations
Develops and implements strategies to assure business and work processes and management system elements are in place and adhered to so as to achieve safe, reliable, and efficient operations of the GTM assets and compliance with regulations and laws
Drives continuous improvement and supports incident investigations involving infrastructure damage by providing subject matter expertise when necessary
Champions change and improvement to damage prevention practices and activities necessary to meet corporate objectives and ensure compliance
Establish and report to senior management on performance metrics including unauthorized activity, improvement opportunities and overall Damage Prevention program performance
Completes an annual Program review and coordinates program audits
Damage Prevention Awareness & Support

Plays a lead role in the coordination and completion of corrective actions resulting from regulatory audits, internal audits, verifications and Integrity First self-assessments
Represents Damage Prevention as an SME by acting as an advisor and participating in or leading internal committees
Participate in pipeline hazard and risk assessment related to third party damage and complete an annual hazard review
Facilitates the Enterprise PAC team in promotion of pipeline safety awareness through trending, analysis and communication
Actively participates on Industry committees and Damage Prevention organizations (i.e. DPWG, BCCGA, AB CGA, etc.) on behalf of Enbridge GTM
Proactively engages with other GTM functional groups such as Operations, Integrity and Lands & ROW to support the safe execution of damage prevention activities
Team Leadership & Supervision

Ensure that all employees and contractors have an understanding of their roles and assigned work, including clearly defined expectations and accountabilities in relation to EHS&S, performance, reliability and profitability.
Establishes team goals and leads and supports the Damage Prevention team to accomplish goals
Provides development, coaching, guidance and advice to the Damage prevention team

Qualifications:
Required:
University undergraduate Bachelor’s degree
10 years of industry experience including 5 years of progressive experience in Damage Prevention related roles with 5 years at the supervisory or manager level
Strong analytical acumen, with a proven track record in management, process optimization, stakeholder relationship management
Well-developed communication skills – written and verbal
Flexibility to adapt to frequent shifts in priorities and schedules
Experience in external stakeholder management through effective engagement.
Formal leadership training to support the execution of effective leadership practices will be an asset.
Ability to communicate to a wide audience, including employees, all levels of management, industry associations and regulatory agencies.
Ability to organize complex information and write concise documents and correspondence to various audiences.
Ability to clearly articulate strategic ideas and to build strategic plans.
Highly motivated and energetic to pursue the development of strategic plans and to manage the challenges associated with creating wide support for the timely execution of these strategies.
Strong interpersonal skills, including consultation, influencing, negotiation, facilitation and conflict resolution.
Demonstrated ability to initiate, lead and manage large scale change

Preferred:
Field related experience is an asset
Experience developing management systems and programs would be an asset.
Project and project management training and experience is an asset.
Expertise in risk assessment is an asset.
Approximately 80% Office Environment-vs-20 % in a field or operating facility and at outside operations in all types of weather
Business Travel up to 25% of time.
Air travel within Canada and US, occasional local travel driving company vehicle or rental vehicle
Must be able to remain calm and focused during emergency situations
May be exposed to work near moving mechanical parts
May work in high, precarious places
May work near toxic or caustic chemicals
May travel to and work in remote or isolated environments
The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); fumes or airborne particles; risk of electrical shock and vibration
The noise level in the work environment may be above 90 dBA
