The Ministry of Transportation plays an integral role in promoting economic growth and meeting the social needs within the province of BC through the development approval programs it administers. The Ministry of Transportation is the agency responsible for maintaining and rehabilitating public highways including those dedicated and constructed by subdivision plans and land use applications. The Ministry has a regulatory role established by the Highways Act, Land Title Act, Local Government Act and other statutes. The Ministry of Transportation works with partners and other levels of government to provide safe, efficient, cost effective movement of goods, people and resources.
The Senior Project Manager (PM) will lead and manage a team of project managers, assistant project managers, and project technicians. The Senior PM will lead major highway improvement projects and/or components of corridor programs with multiple key deliverables.

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:
- Degree with a minimum 5 years of related experience OR;
- Diploma with a minimum 7 years of related experience OR;
An equivalent combination of education and experience. recent experience.
(*Education must be in business administration, public administration, engineering, or related field)
Related experience includes a combination of the following:
Experience in supervising/leading in a professional environment, including managing the workload of other project team members, managing employee performance, coaching and mentoring, goal setting, and leading the resolution of HR/performance issues.
Experience managing multiple projects or leading a component (e.g., sub-project) of a major project.
Experience managing relationships with senior level stakeholders and leading consultation sessions.
Experience in budget management and procurement.
Preference may be given to applicants with:
Experience with transportation infrastructure.
Experience managing major infrastructure projects.
