The Foundation is seeking a Donor Engagement Assistant who is the first point of contact for the Foundation responsible for providing excellent customer service, accurate donation processing and administrative support. The Donor Engagement Assistant will support the Donor Engagement & Operations team with volume throughout the busy season.

What you will achieve with us:
Donor Service & Gift Administration
Provide primary reception coverage ensuring an excellent level of customer service to all donors, visitors, board members, volunteers and other stakeholders including, answering and directing all inbound calls and greeting visitors.
Respond to, or appropriately direct, general Foundation, Hospital and donor inquiries, ensuring consistent and appropriate messaging and escalate as appropriate including notifying hospital patient relations of any hospital matters.
Coordinate daily mail collection and distribution including collecting, opening and distributing inbound mail, tracking and arranging postage of outbound mail, accepting and arranging deliveries and couriers.
Record and process revenue and update donor records in accordance with the Foundation and Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) guidelines.
Promptly and appropriately acknowledge all donations including generating and mailing thank you letters and tax receipts, acknowledgement cards, certificates and welcome packages as well as responding to donor inquiries.
Support Raiser’s Edge database projects to maintain database integrity including updating donor records, ensuring address accuracy, entering responses from donor preferences and statistical surveys.
Foundation Wide Support
Coordinate the distribution of Foundation materials across the Hospital and community as required.
Provide general administrative support to the Director and Donor Engagement & Operations team including meeting coordination, expense coding and other special projects as assigned.
The successful candidate will work Monday to Friday days. Schedules may change based on operational needs.
What you bring to MSH:
A university degree or college diploma in related field with minimum one year of experience in related field.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately and with discretion.
Good technical skills including experience with online resources, Microsoft Office, spreadsheet and database applications (knowledge of Raiser’s Edge a strong asset).
Aptitude for technology with ability to learn and effectively use new systems proficiently.
Self-starter and motivated to take on new initiatives and open to taking informed risks with sound judgment, tact and diplomacy.
Ability to organize and manage a diverse range of assignments and adjust to changing priorities while maintaining high efficiency and thorough attention to detail.
Resourceful and independent while comfortable working within the framework of an integrated development program and team-oriented environment
Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards
Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required
