Overview

The Operations Manager will manage the integrity and profitability of our Detour Lake Mine Project including ongoing improvements and enhanced customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Model the way for safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviors in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
Responsible for general management of the Branch (at the site) including acting as the liaison between mine site management and the business
Represent and drive Toromont Cat’s business model through effective contract management and fleet performance
Manage all aspects of reporting including P&L, budget and expense management, assuring financial reports and sales goals are on track
Resolve issues related to receivables/invoices, quoting, sales and rental agreements, RFP/RFQ preparation and financing options
Provide administrative and policy guidance to Product Support Managers and Supervisors in support of the highest levels of customer satisfaction
Actively participates in Regional meetings to support the development of strategic goals aligned with corporate initiatives
Provide input to operating policies and procedures in support of achieving business objectives
Motivate and coach teams to achieve personal and corporate objectives
Direct high level Human Resources initiatives including recruitment and retention
Requirements

Post Secondary Education and 5+ years as a service-based mining leader with a focus on sales and operations
Highly safety conscious with a diverse understanding of Toromont Operating Policies
Strong technical knowledge of all products supported by Toromont Cat
Exceptional communication, relationship development and interpersonal skills to collaborate at all levels and with cross functional teams
Strategic with the ability to deal with internal and external customers on every level
Customer centric with effective team building, coaching and leadership with the ability to implement goals
Proven business and financial acumen with effective decision making in reviewing and analyzing reports
Strong negotiation, analytical, problem solving, planning and organizational skills with a clearly defined sense of urgency
Understanding of the current business conditions
Ability to effectively adapt and prioritize in a high pressure, fast-paced, deadline driven environment
Self-directed, independent and a team player with strong initiative
Computer literate with proficiencies in Word, PowerPoint and Excel, SIS and DBS
Willing and able to travel on a rotational basis
Experience with Toromont Operations and Bilingual in English/French would be an asset
Valid Driver’s Licence and clean Drivers Abstract
