We are currently seeking a Cross Border Tax Senior to join our tax practice. This versatile role will involve working directly with a number of our staff and clients. We are looking for an individual whom is committed to a career in taxation and has the desire to take a senior role in managing cross border tax engagements and contributing both to the growth of the firm and our clients.
Our tax practice offers the opportunity to work in a range of tax and succession planning areas including estate & trust compliance, personal and corporate tax planning, purchase and sale of private businesses, estate planning, and cross border investment and compliance. We are interested in meeting candidates with experience in any of these areas.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Prepare and review (where applicable) Canadian and U.S. individual tax returns;
Verify tax assessments;
Correspond with clients, other advisors and tax authorities;
Coordinate and manage client accounts;
Assist managers and partners with tax initiatives, including but not limited to developing and implementing tax planning strategies for clients;
Understand, analyze and research tax queries for clients, Partners, Senior Managers, and Managers;
Collaborate with and support team members in providing exceptional client service;
Provide leadership and direction to junior team members to ensure completion of filings by designated deadlines; and
Other duties as assigned.
A successful candidate will have:
Minimum of three years of cross-border Canadian and US tax experience
Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
Attention to detail
Ability to multi-task and manage a demanding workload and multiple deadlines
