Eye Physicians and Surgeons, Dr. H Strungaru & Associates is currently looking for temporary part time or full time ophthalmic technician who is detailed orientated and enjoys working in a fast paced environment. Dr. Strungaru is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who sees adults and children. She is dealing with medical and surgical diseases of the eye such as cataracts, glaucoma, pediatric and adult strabismus, as well as corneal and retinal diseases. We are looking for someone who will provide excellent patient care and enjoys working as part of a team. Approximately three to four days per week.

We are looking for Full Time or Part Time Temporary Ophthalmic Technician

Date Available: February 1st, 2020

Temporary End Date: February 1st 2021

Salary: starting at $19.00 /hour, depending on experience and knowledge

Responsibilities and Duties

Main responsibilities of a Technician, but not limited:

  • Taking medical history
  • Checking visual acuity
  • Measuring intraocular pressure
  • Performing Humphrey visual field tests
  • Obtaining Optical Coherent Tomography (OCT) images
  • Doing IOL measurements
  • Administering eye drops
  • Preparing surgical charts

Qualifications and Skills

Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.

Additional Qualifications (Preferred): Ophthalmic Assistant course from an accredited institution and certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) from the Joint Commission of Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology (JCAHPO)

Minimum of one year experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant required.
