The successful candidate must be detail-oriented with good written and verbal skills, good interpersonal skills and the ability to work well under pressure.The following list provides a brief description of responsibilities but is not limited to the following:
Assist the Site Safety Representative in the creation, development, implementation and maintenance of company safety policies including Safe Work Practices/Safe Job Procedures/Daily Attendance/Progress Pictures and the Site Emergency Response Plan.
Assist in overseeing the safety performance of all on-site workers to ensure that all workers are following safe work practices and procedures.
Advise on PPE equipment need and implementationComplete safety supply requisitions and submit accordingly.
Complete Daily Attendance Records.Assist in Conducting Site Orientations, Tool Box Meetings, with all site staff and contractors.
Help monitor the proper use of heavy equipment, directing and helping educate employees of proper use.
Assist with reports and filing of all near miss, injuries, and occurrences of theft, implement corrective action and investigate accordingly.
Complete site inspections daily and communicate all documentation to Site Safety Representative and head office.
Provide safety reports and information to the Site Superintendent and/or assigned Head Office staff.
Identify causes and advise on improvements in safety standards that need to be made. Continually review OH & S Standards for Province of Employment.Provide internal training of WHMIS and SDS.
Ensure all products and materials for SDS are tracked and dated.
Maintain records of inventory for all equipment.Maintain inspection schedules for equipment on site.Assist on other Regional sites as required
