- POSITION SUMMARY-The Market Development Manager is responsible for working with distributorsand food service outlets in assigned territories for the purpose ofdeveloping sales to meet assigned targets.-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS- Work closely with the GM to achieve the assigned sales target.- Execute and monitor promotional activities within the A&P budget.Work with supermarkets to promote the sale of products both greatervariety and increased quantities. Ensure supermarket product pricing, shelfspace, and promotional periods and locations are accurate andeye-appealing.- Prepare periodic reports for management on market intelligence includingrecommendations to meet or counter competitor actions.- Maintain positive relationships with existing customers; explore andbuild relationships with others to develop more business opportunities.Timely handle customers inquiries.- Handle expired and damage products.- Prepare quality plans, budgets, presentations and reports as required.- Execute various sales and marketing projects, including management andadministrative duties.- Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.-QUALIFICATIONS-The individual must be able to perform each essential functionsatisfactorily. The individual must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, andOutlook.-LANGUAGE SKILLS-The individual must possess excellent communication and presentationalskills both written and verbal and a proven ability to work independentlyin cross-functional teams to achieve established goals. The individual willconduct presentations in large and small group settings.-PHYSICAL DEMANDS-This position is home based with extensive automobile travel. Occasionaltravel outside of Canada is expected (United States, China, Hong Kong).While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly requiredto use hands and fingers to perform daily job functions (computer andoffice equipment use). The employee is required to stand, sit, kneel, andwalk when performing essential job functions (visits to restaurants,customers).
Specific vision abilities are required by this job includingclose vision, and ability to adjust focus.
