The presales team is referred to as Business Solutions within FIS, since it does far more than the traditional "presales" role of product demos and discovery. The mission statement of the team is to provide subject matter expertise, product expertise and consultative sales support to a wide range of sales executives, account managers and relationship managers. We show our prospects how to solve business problems and achieve quantified business benefits using FIS software and related business process changes.

What you will be doing

FIS is looking to hire a senior Risk presales specialist to join a team of highly motivated business solutions consultants. Ideally, based in Toronto, you will have the skills and market expertise to drive new business sales for our Adaptiv solution, part of our Cross-Asset Trading and Risk product suite. Your role will comprise of two main streams; modeling trading and risk management business scenarios in Adaptiv and taking a lead sales support role for opportunities.

Modelling trading and risk management scenarios: With a deep understanding of the financial risk industry you will model deals, portfolios, and perform risk and analytical calculations across different buyside and sell side financial institutions.
Sales support: You will provide direction to the sales team for recommended solution, product demonstrations and creation and packaging of proposals and input to appropriate sections of requests for proposal (RFPs) and requests for information (RFI).

As an experienced individual, you will enjoy working directly with our award-winning sales team across the region helping drive sales processes to secure new sales. You will relish assisting to close large software sales with banks, brokers and treasurers.

You will need to have a very good working knowledge of the Fundamental Review of the Trading Book, Counterparty Credit Risk and Counterparty Valuation Adjustments (in all its forms) and Market Risk across all asset classes and derivatives. You should consider yourself a Risk specialist. Your knowledge and ambition will drive you to become the center of winning sales processes by clearly articulating the benefits of our solutions.

Key responsibilities:
To liaise with client Business Analysts to apply the Adaptiv software suite to solve business problems, identifying and documenting system requirements
To analyze current systems and data to identify new requirements, recognizing the need for systems enhancements or modifications if necessary
Deliver sales presentations and solution demonstrations, and provide coverage at risk management events and client events
Provide market risk and counterparty credit risk expertise in the sales process in collaboration with sales team
Identify and qualify clients’ business and functional requirements in order to obtain initial project estimates, identify solution gaps after gathering clients’ requirements and communicate back to product management
You will help to drive the analysis of client requirements and the construction of appropriate responses, the best demonstration of software and responds to RFI/RFP documents in a timely and professional manner
You will liaise with internal Development staff, support teams within the implementation group.
You will maintain and improve the coverage of internal test data for the supported models and calculations
You will help identify the compelling needs uncovered in qualification or otherwise identified. These may well be based upon more than one core FIS product, service or, indeed, specific developments.
Very quickly, your experiences and knowledge will be tapped as a trusted specialist partner to bring enriched sales success to FIS.

What you bring

A strong proven track record of success in presales or sales with a deep knowledge of risk from time in a software vendor as part of an institution that has implemented such Risk software
Experience, to quickly learn to demonstrate our Risk solutions in detail
Confidence and a desire to be a leader or key player in compelling presentations of our solutions to senior leaders in our prospect and client base
Passion and hunger for contributing to sales success across North America, travelling widely and regularly but not more than a few days at a time.
Substantial market risk and counterparty credit risk experience including modeling and reporting
Very strong mathematical ability, with expert knowledge of calculus and statistical analysis. Experience of mathematical pricing of financial instruments required.
Strong analysis, problem-solving and development skills are essential.
Experience in client facing activities
Understanding of the entire sales cycle, from market research through to contract signing
Good grasp of technology and technical concepts
Analytical and consultative approach to client engagements
Equally comfortable working independently or as part of a team
Ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Outstanding presentation abilities
Fluent English written and verbal language skills
