One of these programs is Forensic Outreach Program – Rural Region.
The Forensic Outreach Program provides support and mentoring to individuals who are facing multiple barriers to self-actualization, with the goal of improving stability and quality of life while reducing recidivism and increasing community safety.
Participants in the program receive mental health and addictions crisis intervention, outreach supports, mentoring and advocacy.
We have an opening for a Forensic Outreach Worker. This a part-time position is best suited for an individual with significant experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental health issues in active addictions. The Forensic Outreach Worker will work with the client to develop person centered outreach goals, and deliver supports while working towards increasing stability and independence. Working knowledge of the criminal justice system and the Review Board System is an asset and a high level of comfort working independently and building relationships with hard to engage individuals. You would be a key member of a team of like-minded professionals with a passion for change that is making a positive contribution in our community.
This position requires a flexible schedule, good organizational skills, the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Delivery to services should be solution focused and goal specific. The work is mainly in clients' homes and/or community but there is an office base for workers to collate information and write reports.
