Based in Patricia Bay, Vancouver Island, the Aviation (AVN) Basic Vehicle (BV) Components Field Service Representative is responsible for performing AVN air vehicle support. As a systems expert, the incumbent acts as technical adviser to the Senior Aircraft Maintenance Authority (SAMA) and maintenance managers to resolve complex AVN system failures.
Advise and instruct the customer on AVN system equipment, on test equipment, in developing and testing modifications and in performing inspections on aircraft AVN systems and components;
Assist the Technical Problem and Project Section (TPPS) and OEM engineers to investigate CH148 Technical Problems, analyze and determine cause of malfunctions and institute corrective measures to prevent recurrence of discrepancies;
Perform maintenance activities beyond the capabilities of technical personnel, as authorized and directed;
Submit complete and detailed reports, diagrams, etc. monthly, concerning AVN component operating discrepancies including any recommendations and suggestions for design changes that may improve performance in the field;
Act as the resident expert on technical matters and maintenance procedures; and
Assist in the maintenance management of the CH148 helicopter by providing technical support associated with the CH148 BV systems including but not limited to:
Landing Gear systems; and
Flight Control systems.
Technical college diploma in Avionics or equivalent;
Five (5) – Ten (10) years direct helicopter (S92/H60) or equivalent maintenance experience and have a sound understanding of Helicopter Avionics systems specifically in the areas mentioned above;
Familiarity with military operations;
Possess excellent communication skills;
Function effectively in oral and written English;
Bilingual an asset; and
Possess a basic knowledge of the following disciplines and skills:
Life Cycle Materiel Management
Reliability and Maintainability (Basic); and
36 Month Term;
Must be eligible for registration to the Controlled Goods Program;
Must be eligible to obtaining and maintaining the government of Canada’s “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance;
