Basic Function

This position is responsible for coordinating and supporting all aspects of the program (s) with a specific focus on the coordination of patient intake, nurse and patient availability, scheduling and communication to support the program(s) in designated regions.

Nature and Scope

The Coordinator, Clinical Programs will be responsible to provide superior customer service when coordinating scheduling of services with identified Shoppers Drug Mart (SDM) retail pharmacies or clinics, patients, and health care professionals (HCP). Attention to business objectives and customer key performance indicators (KPI’s) identified for the program(s) will be fundamental to the success of the incumbent in this role.

What will you do:
Develop effective working relationships with internal and external clients to facilitate communication to ensure patient satisfaction and KPI’s are met.
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the SDM retail stores, regional nursing team, program and nursing management teams as well as supply vendors.
Responsible to ensure accuracy and completeness of all documentation received at time of patient enrollment and timely follow up for enrollments. Also responsible for monitoring Nursing Post Injection Reports for completion and the reporting of adverse events.
Manage nurse availability for region(s) of responsibility: collect, track and update with just in time information. As nursing needs change throughout the region, the Coordinator, Clinical Programs will collaborate with the Regional Nurse Manager or designate to develop a scheduling contingency plan when required.
Responsible to coordinate ordering and deliveries and track all clinical supplies as required for a dedicated region(s).
Responsible to report feedback from patients regarding services rendered to nursing management to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Responsible to report and identify any missed adverse events and participate in training requirements on adverse event reporting and disease states as required.
Ensure timely and effective resolutions for HCP and urgent clinic issues and support problem solving to resolution.
Responsible for the creation and maintenance of a current nursing and dedicated SDM store/clinic contact list.
Ensure processes improvements are identified for Siebel and Chronos to ensure efficient day to day work flow is achieved.
Other projects as designated by the Supervisor, Clinical Programs.

What will you need:
2-3 years’ experience coordinating health related services directly to patients and in collaboration with other health professionals (i.e., physicians, nurses, pharmacists) .
Good understanding of Specialty Pharmacy business, structure of programs, delivery of program services, customer base and how to deliver client-centered services.
Excellent customer relations, problem-solving, organizational and communications skills.
High level of computer skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
Bilingual French Canadian is required.
