Georgian Bay General Hospital is seeking a licensed Trade Worker to fill a full-time temporary contract. In this role the Trade Worker will report to the Facilities and Operations Manager. The potential candidate must be a self-starter and highly motivated individual who work’s well independently and in a team environment.
Install, maintain, and repair the various electrical/mechanical/plumbing systems throughout the hospital.
Inspect, test, and operate any of the systems or equipment to determine that all are functioning properly.
Instruct staff whenever necessary of the proper use and care of the systems and equipment.
Calculate estimates of installation, repair, and maintenance entities as required.
Maintain required records and to complete monthly, annual and other operational reports as required.
Perform preventive and scheduled maintenance as required

Professional demeanor, able to relate easily to a wide range of stakeholders
Eye and hand coordination and manual dexterity to make rapid and accurate adjustments or repairs to equipment.
Maintain strict confidentiality on highly sensitive matters.
Good hearing to detect and determine malfunctions in equipment
Must be familiar with tools and methods of the trade, interpretation of blueprints and related codes and standards.
Must possess the ability to work rapidly under emergency conditions and to affect repairs.
Initiative and judgment required in planning installation of new equipment, detecting malfunctioning of equipment and making repairs.
Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
Site Supervisor/Team Lead experience
Must possess current license issued through the Ontario College of Trades in the following trades
Previous work experience in a Hospital setting would be considered an asset.
Fluency in both English and French
