Are you passionate about building the capacity of Alberta’s nonprofit and charitable sector? Are you ready to lead the way in providing service, support and tools to our community that will help organizations to advance their mission and by doing so achieve IntegralOrg’s mission?
IntegralOrg’s mission is to add value as an active participant of Alberta’s charitable and non-profit sector by offering a proactive education and supportive approach to governance and management. We offer seminars, workshops, clinics and direct service agreements to ensure sector organizations’ regulatory compliance and to encourage best practices in carrying out their missions.
We’re a young organization and hiring our first Executive Director. Our two founders have been leading the charge. We currently have a team of three staff who are passionate about our mission. This position is based in our Calgary office. We also have a satellite office in Edmonton.
We are looking for someone who will make certain our strategic plan is delivering services that will lead to our achieving our mission. Our Executive Director will be responsible for continuing to build our profile across the province and will have proven experience as a connector who is comfortable working with other nonprofit sector organizations, umbrella organizations, government entities, for-profit entities, private foundations and other sector funders. The Executive Director will support the board to govern with best practices in mind and will provide the board with the information it needs to deliver on its strategic, fiduciary, oversight and community leadership responsibilities. As our sole senior administrative leader s/he will take on the customary roles of financial management, fund development, communications, human resources manager, and operations manager.
Our financial goal is that earned income will support our day-to-day operations within the next two years. This means that we need an Executive Director who has the imagination and enthusiasm to seek out opportunities that will generate revenue and the ability to evaluate such opportunities with a critical and pragmatic eye. A person who can develop cost/benefit analysis, and who can establish pricing and payment models—all while keeping in mind that earned income paths must be in accordance with our charitable purposes and will be a practical and affordable support to Alberta’s nonprofit sector organizations.
Attitude, enthusiasm, eagerness and curiosity are traits that come to mind when we think of the person who will lead IntegralOrg on its exciting path to become one of Alberta’s most relevant charities. We expect our Executive Director to have experience in that role, or to have five or more years’ experience as a senior manager at a registered charity or other nonprofit and a career trajectory with positions of increasing responsibility and leadership.
We are actively recruiting for this position so if you sound like the person we have described, please send your cover letter and resume to firstname.lastname@example.org. Recruitment will continue until we have identified the right candidate. We thank all applicants for their interest, but only those selected for an interview will be contacted. No phone calls, please.
