The Sr Client Specialist (SCS) is field-based, client management position in the sales organization. The SCS has overall account responsibility and their key focus is around analyzing the client’s situation and business requirements through awareness, empathy and good questioning. They have the ability to influence clients to use Dimension Data’s services through articulating value in the client’s terms. They take ownership of a range of clients and prospects within the mid-market segment by passionately advocating for client requirements while keeping sight of the need to increase revenue and improve margins for Dimension Data.
What you'll be doing
Generate sufficient revenue/gross profit to regularly achieve designated quota through prospecting, qualifying, and closing both clients and prospects in digital infrastructure, digital communications, or security
Engages prospects/clients to gain an understanding of the business issues and objectives driving their needs
Source new sales opportunities through outbound cold calls (successful calls with result in approximately 20 minutes on the phone with a new client)
Team up with channel partners locally to build a pipeline and close business
Help new clients with their technology procurement through Dimension Data
Develop their own local territory of accounts to sell to by meeting with clients at their site
Work closely with peers in a team environment
Promote to clients a monthly focus topic or promotion
Effectively orchestrate Dimension Data selling and solution resources for maximum impact
Effectively use sales tools (e.g. Salesforce.com) and methodology to manage accounts, opportunities, pipelines and forecast accurately on a consistent basis
Effectively engage with key partners/vendors to maximize rebate programs and generate leads
Maintain territory and activity plans on a regular basis
Maintain broad understanding of solution portfolio
What would make you a good fit for this role?
A BS or BA in Management or IT is preferred
Basic knowledge of Information Technology and Communications Technologies preferred
Work Experience Required
Five plus years of successful direct, new business sales experience preferably in technology services
