SENIOR ACCOUNTANT (NON-AUDIT)

Smythe LLP is seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented Senior Accountant to join our non-audit private company group in our office based in Langley. There is a wealth of opportunity for development and growth in this role as our firm continues to expand.

The Opportunity

As a member of the Assurance Group, you will work directly with clients, Managers and Partners to deliver assurance and advisory services. As a point of contact for our clients, you will take ownership of engagements from start to finish, developing solutions with co-workers across a variety of industries.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and conduct notice to reader and review engagements including preparation of financial statements and working papers
  • Prepare personal and corporate tax returns
  • Prepare T4 and T5 summary and supplementaries
  • Prepare T3 trust tax returns
  • Assess financial and systems controls
  • Provide exceptional service to our clients
  • Participate in and contribute to, the attainment of team objectives

Requirements

  • CPA with a minimum of three years experience within public practice
  • Experience using CaseWare and Taxprep
  • Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks and Simply Accounting
  • Solid working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Solution orientated, with a strong critical thinking mindset
  • Independent work ethic
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in teams and individually
