The Village of Keremeos encompasses two square kilometers in B.C.’s beautiful Similkameen Valley, 30 minutes south of the city of Penticton and the airport, and approximately 4 hours from the greater Vancouver area. Keremeos is on the boundary of Canada’s Sonoran Desert and is the western gateway to interior wine country.
Keremeos’ housing remains very affordable, and the Village contains schools, parks, a medical clinic and hospital, care facilities, a grocery store, drug store and pharmacy, restaurants, pub and liquor store, and several fresh fruit and vegetable stands. Year round recreation is nearby with walking and biking trails, skiing, hunting, fishing, and tubing on the Similkameen River.
Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Coordinator of Community and Corporate Services has responsibility for supporting the Planner and Approving Officer in development matters, processing bylaw complaints, managing Council meeting content and follow up including consolidating bylaw amendments, processing communications through various media channels, providing back up to the public information counter, and other municipal duties assigned by the CAO.
This is a CUPE 608 position, with a 35 hour week at a 2019 rate of $28.42 per hour. The Village also offers an excellent benefits package.
