What can you expect in this role?

Reporting to the VP Group Insurance, you will be responsible of contributing to and leading the execution of Sonnet’s group sales strategy. The incumbent will be the primary contact representing Sonnet's innovative new group insurance offer. Fosters a strong culture of collaboration between internal business partners (Marketing, Group Operations, Legal, Communications, Pricing, Underwriting) to ensure alignment in a fast pace business expected to drive significant YOY profitable growth. Using your experience, you will build and maintain key relationships with existing, new and potential customers.

Group Sales:
Achieve yearly targets by securing new opportunities, leading RFP responses, representing Sonnet at events and tradeshows while driving opportunities through the sales funnel.
Collaborate with legal, marketing and the leadership team to negotiate and secure contracts which will allow Sonnet to achieve maximum awareness and program growth and profitability.
Achieve goals by adhering to departmental procedures while also documenting sales cycle progress in the departmental CRM
Develop and communicate goals, priorities, results, and performance levels across the region / market.
Maintain strong customer satisfaction scores for the team to drive results
Transfer new customer relationships to relationship managers for future revenue generation and to support customer retention efforts.

Sales Strategy:
Contribute to overall planning and target identification.
Develop, implement and review regional/vertical, short-term (3 -6 months) and long-term (1-2 year) rolling sales strategies and tactical plans to identify profitable business prospects
Coordinate B2B Digital marketing. Collect competitive insights, identifying key events and tradeshows and tactics which will contribute to greater awareness of Sonnet's new group capability
Break down strategic problems, and analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations

New Group Launches:
Collaborate with Marketing, Relationship manager, Digital Experience and Communications to meet program launch delivery dates with maximum impact

What do you bring to the role?

University degree in any discipline, or College diploma in a relevant discipline
10 years of experience in a strategic B2B sales role within insurance or financial services, with a proven track record of success
Priority will be given to individuals with deep industry relationships that can be leveraged nationally.
Exceptional customer service, verbal and written communication and presentation skills
Cross Functional Leadership: Very strong ability to influence and effectively negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
Strong management and leadership skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external business partners
Proven ability to be self-motivated and entrepreneurial.
Influences and negotiates to achieve business objectives
Strong strategic thinking, analysis, organizational and planning skills
Demonstrates creativity and innovation skills
Knowledge of risk management principals and the factors that contribute to risk.
Ability to mitigate risk by evaluating the potential impact of problems, solutions and options.
