The Intermediate Accountant is responsible for the preparation & analysis of operational activity.
Responsible for the GL accounting cycle
Account analysis and reconciliations
Accounts payable and expense claim processing
Payroll preparation and review
Assisting with month end, quarter end and year end reporting
Preparation of monthly Journal entries
Analyze and evaluate financial, performance, or statistical data in support of department and business objectives
Other support to the Controller as required
KNOWLEGDE, SKILLS and ABILITIES
College diploma or University degree in Finance or Accounting
Accounting Designation (or working toward) CA, CGA or CMA
High level of proficiency with systems and report development
Demonstrated skills in analysis, data gathering, planning and critical thinking
Effective problem solving skills
Advanced Excel skills
3-5 years previous workplace experience an asset
Self-started, able to work independently
Ability to multitask and handle simultaneous projects and requests
Solid written and oral communication skills
Strong attention to detail
