Working under the direction of the leadership team of CTS Support Services, the person in this role will be responsible for Administration and Setup and Support of User Hardware, Software, Various Services, Network and System Administration of the IT equipment under the care and control of the CTS Support Services team. The duties and responsibilities of the systems administrator will continue to evolve over time as the needs/requirements of the business (PointClickCare) develop. All systems administrators will be expected to share in the on-call responsibilities as scheduled as well as complete project work assigned to them outside of their day-to-day tasks.
- Regular hours of work in this position are between 8:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday. However, the IT Support Services members also provide on-call, after hours and weekend support as per a rotational schedule.
- Some occasional lifting of computer equipment, monitors, printers and under workstation access is required.
Actively monitoring the CTS Support Services ticketing system and providing expert support to users in cases that are escalated to the CTS Support Services Team for additional troubleshooting and repairs.
Provide tier-2/tier-3 level support
Managing competing priorities so that any critical issues are addressed promptly thereby reducing inconvenience caused to users
Maintaining and administration of internal IT Servers and IT Services. (Windows Server environment, VPN, LAN, Cisco Network and Voice/Video system, etc. (see below in Key technologies section))
As a member of the IT team, you will directly manage and operate a medium-sized network - Servers running Windows 2008/2012, Active Directory and Exchange Online
Provide support for the Active Directory infrastructure including GPO’s, DNS, LDAP, Certificates, etc.
Coordinate with vendors, external partners to ensure information systems meet the organization's needs
Collecting information regarding potential system enhancement needs and preparing details of specifications.
Establish and maintain documentation and standards. Understand and maintain service management strategies that align with the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) framework
Coordinate with project teams to provide technical guidance to project managers, system designers while working on assigned projects. Assist in developing project plans and implementations
Monitor and report system performances in regards to established Service Level Agreements to report on activity and problems to management so that they may be efficiently corrected
Work closely with the Network Administrator and Security coordinator and follow internal network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware.
Research and recommend new technology to maximize Return on Investment (ROI) based on the departmental and organizational goals and objectives
Participate in the impact assessment, business case preparation and selection of tools and devices that will improve our ability to effectively maintain, monitor and troubleshoot IT Servers, Services and Network Equipment

- Familiarity with the following technologies are considered an asset: VMware (ESX4, ESXi5, Vsphere 5), SAN storage (EMC – CX3/CX700, VNX - 5300), wireless technologies, video conferencing technologies, spam filter, asset and configuration management
Bachelor’s degree or Collage diploma in a relevant field (i.e. computer science, technology or information systems)
Demonstrated experience working within an IT Administration role. Experience within a professional services environment is considered an asset
Microsoft PowerShell Scripting experience is required
Office 365 experience is required
Experience supporting Mac and Windows PC are required
Microsoft certification is considered an asset
Effectiveness working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
Familiarity working within PHIPA/HIPAA compliant environment considered an asset.
