The ideal candidate would currently be at either a local accounting firm or an in-house accountant within a corporation with exceptional bookkeeping skills and experience of full cycle accounting. The position will report into Group Financial Controller. It is a great career opportunity for an accountant who has the desire to expand their knowledge into IFRS, complex financial structures, financial instruments and fund accounting, while exceling at the day to day bookkeeping and accounting. In addition, the person would also be involved in production of financial statements, bank reconciliations, conducting cyclical audits, and financial forecasts, with a path to senior positions within the firm. The role would suit someone who is proactive and willing to take on a challenge and at the same time is keen to expand their knowledge and enhance their profile in accounting and operations of financial products in a rapidly growing investment fund manager.


  • Day to day bookkeeping, AP/AR management, ledger reconciliations, month end reporting and preparation of month end balance sheet packs
  • Helping on cashflow management, projections, and accrual estimations for the funds
  • Dealing with fund partners, banks, lawyers, fund custodians on a day to day basis in relation to fund matters
  • Invoicing and billing, bank transactions and bank reconciliations
  • Create ad-hoc reports for various business needs
  • Prepare tax documents
  • Assist in preparation and review of annual and semi-annual financial statements of the funds
  • Assist in reviewing net asset value calculations of funds
  • Assist on due diligence projects
  • Assist in overseeing third party fund accountants
  • Leading on monthly/quarterly distributions and redemptions of funds


  • Knowledge of accounting software, preferably QuickBooks
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office suite, intermediate to advance Excel skills
  • Excellent analytical skills, detailed and forward-looking approach in day to day accounting


  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
  • Demonstrable experience of communication and dealing with multiple stakeholders is helpful
  • Experience in preparation of GST, HST, Corporate tax returns and dealing with regulators is preferable
  • Fund accounting or financial services experience is not a pre-requisite and adequate sector related training would be provided on the job
