The kind of things you'd be doing:
Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of databases
Document database design through data modeling, review design to ensure optimized data environments
Establish appropriate end-user database access control levels and audit controls
Configuration planning and installation of mostly Postgres 9.x databases
Troubleshooting and resolution of database/server problems
Backup and recovery of local and remote replicated databases
Provide day-to-day support to 24 * 7 * 365 production systems as assigned
Provide DBA support to development/implementation projects as assigned, doing installations, database loading, conversions, testing
Prepare change control documentation
Administer database security, establish security controls, and conduct audits
Design and implement redundant systems, policies, and procedures for business continuity, disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of databases.

Ideal Qualifications:
University Degree in Computer Science
3 years equivalent work experience as a Database Administrator
Working experience with PostgreSQL, Mysql, MongoDB, SQL Server SSIS/SSRS
Device configuration, installation, stored procedures & packages PL/SQL and sql script writing
ETLs and data loads, Replication & Standby databases, database rebuild / defragment techniques, logical & physical backup / recovery techniques
Application side tuning and server side tuning
Strong understanding of all database structures, theories, principles, and practices
Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting database servers
Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience
Experience with clustering, pooling, and load balancing would be considered an asset
Experience Unix Scripting
Good analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Quick learner, with good interpersonal and communication skill
