Accountabilities:

As a Cook at one of our accounts, you will be responsible for food production, as well as directing and coordinating employee activities. You will follow all the different Sodexo Programs: Food Safety, Health and Safety, policies and procedures, as well as marketing. It is a very hands on role. Candidates must have a good knowledge and understanding of the food service business, including customer service, food cost control. They would be reporting to a Sodexo Production Manager. Responsibilities:

  • Set up stations and collect all necessary supplies to prepare menu for service
  • Prepare a variety of foods; meat, fish, poultry, vegetable, and cold food items
  • Maintain a prepared and sanitary work area at all times
  • Make sure all storage areas are clean and all products are stored appropriately
  • Use safe and hygienic food handling practices
  • Assist with all duties as assigned by Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Valued Skills:

  • A minimum of 1 year in a similar role
  • Red Seal is an asset
  • Experience cooking authentic multicultural cuisine
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
