CanAm Pet Treats is currently seeking an Accounting Manager for our growing North American and international business.

Reporting to the COO, the Accounting Manager is responsible for completing day-to-day accounting and finance functions as well as regular financial reporting. Working closely with key members of the leadership team, the Financial Manager has an integral role in evaluating company performance and developing strategic initiatives. Main responsibilities include:

  • Manage the accounting department operations
  • Accurately maintain accounting systems, policies and procedures
  • Prepare daily, monthly and annual financial reports and statements
  • Reconciliation of all bank and clearing accounts
  • Supervise the administration of the AP, AR and Payroll functions
  • Prepare annual operating budgets for all departments
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide advice as needed for capital investments, pricing decisions and contract negotiations

We are looking for an experienced candidate to join the CanAm team and share our commitment to responsible growth. The position requires a solid finance background and a positive attitude along with these additional qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required (MBA preferred)
  • 7+ years’ experience in a financial management position
  • Strategic planning experience
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Demonstrated creative and critical thinking skills
  • Able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
