We’re seeking a permanent part-time Student Experience Lead position to join our team at Luminesque Dance. You will be responsible for developing long-term relationships with our diverse group of adult students, guiding them throughout their personal growth journey, deeply listening to their feedback, and supporting our HQ team in developing the best possible student experience for everyone in our community. The hours for this role are primarily weekday evenings and weekends, as attending all of our dance classes and events is mandatory for this position. This Lead position will also be responsible for constantly communicating with the rest of the Student Experience Coordinator team and serving as the liaison between them and the HQ team.

YOUR ROLE

  • Being a present, attentive and supportive leader in all of our classes and events
  • Developing personal relationships with each of our students
  • Deeply and actively listening to all direct and inferred student feedback
  • Coaching students through difficult moments in their personal growth
  • Mitigating minor conflict between students, teachers and/or any other staff
  • Keep students informed of all logistical details of their program experience
  • Supporting our teachers in creating a safe and fun environment for everyone
  • Communicate with HQ as the Lead speaker of the Student Experience team
  • Collaborating with HQ to create policy and programs based on feedback

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years in customer service or client relations
  • Minimum 1 year experience in social work, counselling or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, gender studies or equivalent
  • Post-secondary education in Indigenous Studies or equivalent an asset
  • Certification in counselling, social work, and/or inclusivity training an asset

Luminesque Dance is the heels dance program and shows, guaranteed to make you glow! Our expertly designed program teaches adults of all backgrounds, ages and levels of experience to safely dance and perform in heels. Our mission is to provide a safe and empowering space to celebrate otherwise repressed expressions of sexuality, self-love and embodied storytelling through public performances of heels dance. We do this by producing dozens of massive sold-out shows per year at premiere Vancouver venues with a diverse cast of students. Our team is a dynamic group of artists, leaders and professionals all with the goal of building each other up, sparking joy and nurturing “the glow” of unabashed confidence in all bodies, minds and souls.
