Knowledge of the nutritional care needs of the Long Term care resident.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the basics of good sanitation and safe food handling techniques.
Assist the Cook and the Nutritional Care Manager to prepare food and beverages in accordance with menu requirements, recipe and food production guidelines, diet and texture requirements and established OMNI policies and procedures.
Set up dining room tables for meals; clear tables following meals.
Clean kitchen and dining areas and kitchen waste removal in accordance with work assignments.
Wash and put away dishes.
Assist with the serving of meals and beverages in the dining area. Provide a pleasant dining experience to each resident as per established policies and guidelines.
Prepare and serve meals and nourishments as per established menus and schedules.
Follow procedures to ensure foods are served at the appropriate temperature.
Ensure each resident has the opportunity to express his/her meal preferences by offering them a visual choice of each meal option prior to service. Accommodate resident requests and/or food preferences.
Assist with receiving of supplies as directed. Ensure safe food and non-food storage. Ensure all items are accounted for before signing invoices.
