We are currently seeking an experienced, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Junior Accountant reporting to the Senior Accountant in our Vancouver Office. This is a 10-month contract position which will be responsible for providing day to day support to the Accounting function of MCI Canada.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coding and posting invoices, preparing deposits, & journal entries.
  • Accounts payable, oversee cheque requests, and payments of invoices.
  • Enter Shared Corporate credit card transactions on a timely basis
  • Support Accounting Team to ensure speedy and accurate delivery of final billings, including job costing reports
  • Accounts receivable, timely collections of receivables
  • Responsible for tracking and resolving outstanding payment issues
  • Assist with preparation of mid-year and year-end working papers and spreadsheets
  • Liaise with staff and assist with job costing related questions
  • Respond to supplier/customer inquiries relating to accounting

Required Experience, Skills & Abilities

  • Minimum 2 years related work experience
  • Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks
  • Strong Excel Skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure, to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to write and present information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences
