As a Litter Collector in our City’s Roads section, your role will be important in keeping the City clean and safe for the public and residents. Incumbents of this job will perform routine manual work in collecting litter and other debris from City streets, boulevards and public areas. In addition to the listed tasks, you will drive a small light pickup truck and use hand tools in collecting, loading and unloading the vehicle at the dump or into a garbage truck. You may also be called upon to assist in winter operations, salting and plowing. You are able to work independently without supervision; possess exceptional customer service; a creative problem solver; and a self-motivator.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Related experience
- Class 5 BC Driver’s License
- Ability to drive a light vehicle safely along an assigned route and on City streets
- Working knowledge of the City streets and geography
- You will also have the ability to recognize and apply safe work procedures.

The City offers a competitive salary plus a comprehensive benefits package and an earned day off program. The hourly rate is $29.13. Applicants under consideration may be required to undergo a police security clearance evaluation (with no adverse reports).
