Overview of Responsibilities
The selected applicant, who will report to the Manager of Legal Services, will provide constant support to our professionals in real estate transactions for the Corporate Accounts Department at the company’s head office in Montréal, working especially with the company’s lawyers.
Draft offers to lease, commercial leases, offers to purchase, sale agreements and related documents including amendments, subleasing agreements or assignments, renewals, expansions, notices, lifting of conditions, estoppels, correspondences, resolutions, etc.;
Ensure legal documents are signed in a timely manner and carry out related follow-ups;
Ensure documents comply with corporate clients’ demands;
Ensure documents comply with the company’s demands, always maintaining high-quality standards;
Prepare brokerage fee agreements, offers of services, confidentiality agreements, and ensure these documents are signed;
Prepare checklists to ensure all required clauses are included;
Carry out research and verifications pertaining to ownership titles analysis;
Analyze leases during due diligence process for property purchases;
Prepare documentation package to be sent to the buyer for due diligence process during a sale;
Ensure documents for which you are responsible are completed;
Upon request, collaborate in drafting clauses for leases, lease models and other documents relating to transactions;
Ensure liaison between various in-house and external participants for all documents in which you are involved;
Take part in team meetings;
Provide support in any other projects you are entrusted with.
Qualifications and Conditions:
6 to 8 years of experience in commercial real estate
Bilingual (French and English)
Excellent people skills and ability to work alone as well as within a team
Ability for addressing many files at a time while meeting tight deadlines relating to transactions, or complying with deadlines required by professionals
Autonomy and good sense of priorities
Reliable and punctual
Excellent writing skills, both in French and in English
Thorough, meticulous and detail-oriented
Skilled in all MS Office software
Ability to work in an open-plan office
