The Marketing Analytics Specialist role is best suited for an individual who is motivated by using statistics and indicators to make connections and contributions that help shape decisions and change behaviours. An aptitude for leveraging analytics tools with a data analytics mindset and an ability to identify patterns and trends are the main functions of this role.

The preferred candidate is able to work autonomously yet in alignment with teams across our organization. Tracking and measurement, data visualization, testing and evaluation, data integration and statistical modeling are all job elements the candidate needs to be excited about and experienced with.

Position Key Accountabilities:
The Marketing Analytics Specialist will provide strategic council and tactical contribution to both internal and external marketing communications and is responsible for developing and implementing effective, measurable strategies that support the goals of the Calgary Zoo.

The Marketing Analytics Specialist is a professional that has the confidence to advocate for the data and connect its impact to revenue generation, guest experience, and our conservation work.

Position Details:
Start Date – As soon as possible
Status - Full-time Permanent
Hours - 30 hours/week with likelihood of increase to 40 hours/week in future

What you will do:
Develop and deliver data insights that align with and drive the business plan
Ensure data integrity and accuracy internally and externally across web and digital platforms as well as within marketing and business development campaigns
Track, measure and report on key data points driving revenue and brand awareness
Support ongoing analysis of marketing programs including post-campaign digital reports (email, influencer, social, web)
Work with IT and technical teams to define and automate regular tasks and reporting
Collaborate and work across the business with multiple stakeholder groups

This position requires:

Self-motivator who embodies a proactive approach to influence, takes ownership and drives change
Ability to manage pressure and tight timelines, budgets and quick turnarounds
Understanding of metrics and evaluation

What You Will Bring:
Five or more years of relevant experience working in a formal analyst capacity
Degree or diploma in Data Analytics, Marketing, Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Mathematics, Economics, Operations Research or similar programs is preferred
Functional understanding of digital platforms and metrics
Experience using a variety of software tools, such as spreadsheets, databases, reporting/analytical software, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and format data and reports

Working Conditions :
Mostly sedentary position working at a desk most of the day
Must wear a mask at all times when out of the office on zoo grounds

The Calgary Zoo is an outdoor facility and all staff working at the zoo must be comfortable working in a large variety of outdoor conditions. The Calgary Zoo follows the advice of Environment Canada when responding to temperature and air quality issues
