We have a full-time position for an IT Business Relationship Manager in Calgary, AB.

As a member of the IT Management Team, the IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) is responsible for the establishment and maintenance of relationships between IT and the business, and to increase the value realized from IT assets, investments, and capabilities. The BRM is responsible for understanding the business, assisting in the prioritization of projects, ensuring that projects align with the technology that provides maximum return on investment, and assisting with IT strategy in support of the overall business strategy. The BRM is a liaison between IT and the business units, and a trusted advisor to the business units.

The BRM collaborates with and supports the business to ensure operations, standards and continuous improvement of business processes, services and components are designed and implemented in accordance to Black Diamond standards. The BRM is also responsible with the business for managing the processes of sales cycle optimization and asset lifecycle management.

The BRM provides highly valued consulting, support, internal marketing functions and guidance for key IT initiatives by managing the process and workflows to business unit expectations. They communicate changes, decisions, priorities and relevant project information to appropriate levels of staff regarding business unit requests, upgrades, projects, and initiatives. They proactively share knowledge of technology and opportunities to build competitive advantage and improve efficiency and effectiveness of business units’ use of applications and technology. They partner with business leadership and other key stakeholders to define opportunities and identify and prioritize projects based on predefined criteria (e.g. return on investment, productivity, compliance).

Duties and Responsibilities:
Act as the key liaison across all functional areas, establishing strong relationship with the business and (internal/external) customers by understanding their processes, ultimately reducing business and IT barriers
Provide vision for business process improvement governance and strategy aligning with overall corporate vision
Bring innovation into business processes with the aim of positively impacting the results obtainable from the business process
Assist with the definition and introduction of standards, procedures and policies for processes
Able to analyze, model, monitor, and measure business processes
Manage the continuous operational support for business process improvements inline with the strategic goals of the organization
Manage change and react fast to any rapid change in market condition towards improving the organization’s business processes.
Ensure any changes as a result of enhancements are appropriately documented and communicated to all stakeholders
Responsible for data gathering and analytics within the process framework of the organization and support applying such data towards the success of the company
Create shared vision of their respective solutions and facilitate decision making and arbitration relating to trade-offs both within and between different solution platforms.
Perform business analysis and prepare recommendations and business plans as needed
Manage training programs, educating Business users that are responsible for the operation and management of various business processes.
Utilize proper project management methodologies to deploy business application/systems and processes
Lead in managing IT assets
Escalate issues and identify opportunities in a timely, effective manner to the IT General Manager
Participate in strategic and budgetary planning processes, prepare and administer work unit operating budgets; provide recommendations on desired policies and goals and implement new/revised programs according to established guidelines.
Other tasks which involve deep applications and business process knowledge as directed by the IT General Manager

Qualifications:
7+ years of experience in IT/Business relationship with strong interpersonal skills
Computer Science or related diploma/degree required
PMP or relevant certification would be an asset
SalesForce.com experience considered an asset
ERP implementation experience considered an asset
Ability to understand and improve internal business processes and dependencies
Excellent communication and change management skills
Demonstrated strong analytical skills and a systematic approach to problem solving
Sound business knowledge of the industry and the company is preferred
Possess high sense of responsibility and able to work independently with minimum supervision
Ability to interact well with technical teams, business owners and management at all levels of the organization
Demonstrates exceptional collaboration, presentation, verbal and written communication skills
