Role overview

Located at dentalcorp’s Toronto Support Centre downtown Toronto, and working with the IT department, you will be responsible for supporting the availability, safety, confidentiality and integrity of dentalcorp’s data assets wherever they may reside. This position will also be a member of the first level technical response for IT support, the troubleshooting of network issues; maintenance of a host phone system, installation and maintenance of PC hardware and software.

Perform scans of the environment and determine vulnerabilities in the patch levels. Schedule patching for all workstations, and servers. Ensure the patch schedules have completed successfully.
Work with the Cyber Security Lead to ensure servers are properly patched and follow a patching schedule with the smallest risk and interruption to the business.
Review, document and report on the organization’s vulnerability baseline as it relates to patch levels and the security of the infrastructure.
Part of the first level technical response team for identifying information security related issues.
Answering end user concerns regarding information security related questions.
Monitoring of security controls such as firewalls, antivirus software and use of audit devices, detect possible security incidents, document all security incidents.
Install, maintain security servers, devices and software, and software packages used in the Information Technology area.
Configure and test security servers, devices and software packages to support the Information Technology polices
Support security awareness program to staff and clients.
Educate employees on security related topics when the opportunity arises.
Alert employees when new critical security vulnerabilities are made known.
Record IT Support issues into our Tracking System
Provide business users with prompt support by analyzing problems, researching and answering questions, and troubleshooting.
Configure and maintain firewalls, switches, VPN’s and routers systems for both on-prem and remote devices. As well as monitor performance of such systems.
Implement and administer procedures and technical controls as advised by the VP, IT
Manage procedures and standards relating to information networking and security systems and follow industry best practices.
Ensure the consistency and maintainability of existing network resources by creating, maintaining, and enforcing security standards/procedures for implementing solutions.
Manage procedures and standards relating to information and telecommunications systems.
Perform hands-on fixes at the workstation level, including installing and upgrading software, implementing file backups, and configuring systems and applications.
perform testing of all security system changes with business area user.

What we’re looking for

Understand network and security administration plus experience with help desk support.
Knowledge of: TCP/IP Standards, LAN, WAN, VPN Network packet sniffers, Active Directory, Fort iGATE/CISCO/JUNIPER/PAULO ALTO Firewalls, switches/routers and routing protocols, secure wireless networks, end point protection solutions, Security Policies and Standards (HIPAA, PCI and knowledge of PIPEDA), Web filters, Spamfilters, IPS, and IDS.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Windows Registry, Exchange and data backup solutions
Knowledge of desktop support tools for anti-virus, security/encryption software collaboration tools
Management and configuration of V-LANs.
Degree in Computer Science and/or Security Specialist Certification (Security+) or equivalent experience.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent English written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Self-Starter / Team Player.
Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
The following knowledge or experience are preferred but not required to apply: MPLS solution technologies, SDWANS, AWS, CISSP
