Benefit Cosmetics Canada is looking for a full-time, temporary PR Manager to join the Benefit Canada Head Office team on a 12 month contract.

As part of the marketing team, the PR Manager manages all activities related to PR, communications & brand building initiatives for Benefit Cosmetics products & Brow Bar services in Canada. He/she will manage the planning & execution of publicity strategies & campaigns to increase market share, earned coverage, share of voice & generate sales. He/she will cultivate strong relationships with key editors, influencers and media partners working to maximize press in national, local & trade publications. Reporting to the Marketing Director and striving to ensure that all internal & external programs & messages are fully integrated, based on the principles of the brand DNA & in line with the global standards & style guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Identify and build relationships with key media outlets, editors & influencers to drive earned media coverage and share of voice
Lead CRM program and activations for influencers and media
Support paid influencer campaigns and subsequent tracking and measurement
Pitch all new launches and brand activations to all media channels
Determine media and influencer targets for each launch and initiative and appropriate strategy and tactics
Build and manage earned media strategy to secure coverage to drive Print, Web, and Digital SOV
Respond to daily media requests
Identify media trends, news cycles and content opportunities
Proactively manage editorial calendars
Run VIPs program for media and influential people
Support Bold is Beautiful program through unique influencer events, sends, and PR outreach


Lead & organize influencer trips, key launch events, media desk sides and memorable moments
Localize all press releases with Canadian content
Determine and track project KPI’s and ROI’s
Source & negotiate with vendor partners to obtain products and services for events and promotions as required and within budget


Support Internal Spokesperson (National Brow Artist) with ensuring media training and presentation skills are kept up to date and aligned with brand DNA
Ensure NBA delivers brand messaging across all media channels
Build NBA profile amongst media and influencers through event hosting, relationship building, interviews, on-air appearances and social content
Collaborate with NBA to align working calendar as it related to PR/Influencer activations
Manage Brow Besties program to bring services to life for influencers and influential figures
Secure media and interview opportunities for NBA in print and online outlets, with a future focus on broadcast


Coordinate influencer beauty bashes
Facilitate influencer and media boutique appointment
Assist in content creation to support the boutique


Monitor, analyze and report on media coverage and lead relationship with external suppliers
Write and produce presentations & marketing support materials
Budget Management (plan, track spends and log invoices for approval)
In charge of forecasting the PR quantities for each new launch
Manage and report on awards, seal initiatives and fundraising events information
Manage the spreadsheet collation, tracking and distribution of all Marketing and PR TOA’s
Maintain relationships with Global PR counterparts to seek best practices and share learnings
Manage & report monthly updates for PR Calendar to global team


Collaborate with Digital Marketing Manager in creating social media strategies that involve influencer & media outlets to raise brand awareness
Plan & execute strategic PR initiatives to support specific company focus (local or global goals /seasonal focus)
Work with Marketing Director to develop brand awareness campaigns (large & small) outside of the retail environment
Create internal communication tools that keep employees informed of PR results that can be used for training/motivating
Vet and oversee requests for special events, sponsorship opportunities and charitable donations for fit within brand strategies and guidelines
