As a Manager, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include:

Manager (Data Scientist)

Our Data Scientists are client-facing with the ability to understand complex business problems, and how to solve those problems by leveraging analytics applied on client and 3 rd party data. The Data Scientist’s job is to also make the solution “real”, by integrating it into business processes. Finding in those process points for automation of decisions and process through Artificial Intelligence.

The core consulting actions this role helps drive include:
Collaborating and contributing as a team member: understanding personal and team roles; contributing to a positive working environment by building solid relationships with team members; proactively seeking guidance, clarification and feedback.

Identifying and addressing client needs: building solid relationships with clients; approaching clients in an organized manner; delivering clear requests for information; demonstrating flexibility in prioritizing and completing tasks; communicating potential conflicts to a senior team member.

Prioritizing and handling multiple tasks; researching and analyzing pertinent client, industry, and technical matters; utilizing problem-solving skills; and, communicating effectively in written and verbal formats to various audiences (including various levels of management and external clients) in a professional business environment.

Collaborating with peers who assist with this work.

Ability to help others think critically and share complex technical solutions to non-technical audiences both orally and in writing; Proven strong consensus building abilities; Proven skills to work effectively across internal functional areas in ambiguous situations.

The core data science and research action this role drives include:

Understanding client data in the context of a client engagement objective (e.g. find process efficiency, increase marketing effectiveness, predict operational volume, automation manual processes and decision points)

Designing solution leveraging cloud and existing enterprise architecture (e.g. leverage AWS, Microsoft, and other major cloud capabilities) within the constraints of client architecture

Internal research to drive Intellectual Property in key areas of focus for the analytics organization

Collaborate with our major partnerships (i.e .with AI research centres across Canada) on research and client problem solving

Technical leadership on key analytic platforms on Google and Microsoft

Collaborate with cross-functional internal and client teams .

An interest in upskilling for a digital world and technology trends, an openness to learning new tools and adapting how you work.

Ph.D. or MS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Math, Behavioral Science or related topics with at least 5-7 years of research or related work experience

3+ years of Python programming experience

3+ years of experience with SQL language and datastores (MS SQL, PostGres, MySql, Oracle)

Strong experience cleaning, transforming and visualizing large data sets working with various data formats

2+ years of experience with common machine Learning libraries in Python, Spark, and Deep Learning/AI frameworks

Well-rounded knowledge of AWS, Google Cloud or MS Azure

Knowledge of Data tools and ecosystem (e.g., Hive, Sqoop, Spark, Kafka)

Previous experience managing project teams

Previous consulting or professional services experience would be an asset .
