Position Purpose
Provides necessary leadership to ensure integrated, effective and optimal management and implementation of all the Institute’s academic, communications, marketing, recruitment, development and budget management activities). Liaises with deans, department chairs and program directors as well as graduate program assistant deans and executive administrators to ensure graduate programs are well managed and run smoothly. Oversees management of the BES at the Institute and University. Responsible for creating and implementing new programs, such as inter- and multidisciplinary PhD programs as well as executive and CO-OP programs.

Essential Qualifications
Theoretical and practical knowledge of management principles normally acquired through a university education and several years’ experience in a management position.
Knowledge of strategic planning and budgeting; communication and marketing knowledge; ability to effectively manage multidisciplinary teams
Knowledge of structure, curriculum and policies related to secondary and college programs as well as undergraduate and graduate programs considered an asset
Knowledge of faculty and university policies and procedures as well as experience interpreting and applying them considered an asset
Knowledge of environmental sustainability and relevant partners and stakeholders
Familiarity with managing interdisciplinary programs involving one or more faculties
Extensive experience in marketing and communications and writing complex administrative documents in both official languages
Leadership and administration experience
Experience in strategic planning and managing budgets
Strategic development and event planning experience
Project management experience; ability to work well under pressure and organize work in order to meet strict deadlines
Experience managing human resources, including managing teams and conflict, and recruiting students
Customer service experience
Experience in fundraising and alumni relations
Experience developing new academic programs and interpreting university policies and procedures
