Our team is growing and we are actively looking to hire a Senior IT Assurance & Compliance Specialist to join our team! Reporting to the Manager, IT Governance Risk & Compliance, you will be responsible for performing analysis to mitigate risks, conducting research to identify emerging trends in risk management and risk mitigation, and supporting the implementation of programs that ensure or improve the effectiveness of risk management and protection strategies. This position coordinates the operational day to day IT Compliance, has a well-rounded knowledge on adherence to stated IT policies and standards that are being enforced and tested on a regular basis and in-line with industry best practices.

Accountabilities:
Conduct IT control and/or IT risk assessments both inside and outside the company (examples include security, platforms, network, databases, software development lifecycle, security issues, and compliance with regulations).

Assist with implementing a risk based IT control process for assessment both inside and outside the company (including IT Security, SOX ITGC, PCI DSS (IT).

Assist with supporting assurance and compliance processes and procedures.

Assist with planning, and/or execution test of controls for compliance; development of control procedures for different functional areas within Information Technology.

Prepare and communicate the findings of these efforts with the client, consult and identify possible solutions.

Coordinate with stakeholders on assessments performed by parties outside of IT including External Audit, Internal Audit. Assessment may include information security assessments, IT related Privacy assessments, ITGC SOX assessments and PCI assessments to align strategy/approach to reduce information security risk and manage compliance obligations.

Assist with developing and/or compiling metrics and KPIs related to the delivery of Assurance and Compliance Services

Assist with achieving and maintaining assurance and compliance assessments, including but not limited to: Sarbanes-Oxley, PCI DSS, PIPEDA , as well as other compliance, regulatory and audit requirements.

Provide subject matter expertise to stakeholders on requirements for new and existing business / technology solutions to assure compliance to standards and governing policies and procedures.

Qualifications & Experience:
A bachelor’s degree in Computer science, Audit, Management Information Systems (MIS) or equivalent

5+ years of broad information technology or information technology audit, of which minimum 3 years should be in assurance and or compliance services for a large organization

Certifications in areas of speciality are and asset. Examples include: CISA , CGEIT, CRISC

Experience conducting assurance services to assess IT security controls across various platforms (UNIX, Oracle) and regulations (example SOX, PCI DSS)

Experience assessing against leading international security standards, such as; COBIT 5, ISO27001/ ISO27002, or NIST

Experience with assurance working paper systems such as RSA Archer platform and is an asset.
