Your Role and Responsibilities
Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) professionals are engineers who specialize in reliability and resiliency with the right mix of knowledge and skills in software and systems, responsible to analyze business needs, problem determination, advise & design, build, test, deploy, changes and maintenance of a well-engineered information system and ecosystems.
The Site Reliability Engineering Transformation Leader has advanced skills across multiple domains and serves as the SRE squad leader and primary client contact with regular client communications.
SRE Transformation Leader’s apply engineering skills to solve operations problems by:
Defining the Chatops methodology and strategy across accounts for the organization.
Defining the Blameless RCA resolution approach and methodology.
Defining the SRE toolset(s) considered standard and acceptable.
Defining the new delivery operating model and driving usage across accounts.
Defining the monitoring and response methodologies in the new age.
Driving Stability and Reliability inititives to increase the client‘s overall application availability
Enhancing monitoring and management tooling to better detect, diagnose, and correct problems.
Participate in major problems with other SREs in support of their efforts as needed.
Participate with application developers to develop new features and automation to solve operational challenges.
Driving the transformation of delivery methods across the operational teams such as network, database, system administrators, Incident management.
Organizational leadership at a very senior technical level.
You enjoy solving difficult engineering problems and don’t mind getting your hands dirty.
Good Software engineering skills ideally with experience in Python, Go and/or Java.
Understanding of Linux system internals, familiar with TCP/IP stack, network routing, load balancing.
Approach troubleshooting systematically and have a deep sense of ownership for your work.
Ability to root cause sources of instability in a high-traffic, distributed system.
Experience with configuration and troubleshooting of Linux, Java/Scala, Docker systems.
Understanding of large-scale complex systems from a reliability perspective.
Passion for resolving reliability issues and identify strategies to mitigate going forward.
Willingness to work in an ever-changing environment.

Bilingual in English and French.
Canadian Federal Government Security Clearance Level 2 - Secret.
