The Strait Regional Centre for Education is entrusted, under The Education Act of Nova Scotia, to deliver the public school program to approximately 6,200 students in 20 schools throughout the counties of Antigonish, Guysborough, Inverness and Richmond. The Strait Regional Centre for Education, with the support of approximately 970 staff members, works diligently to influence its vision of excellence in lifelong learning. Located in the northeastern part of Nova Scotia, the Centre's jurisdiction encompasses an area of approximately 11,000 square kilometers with a population of 54,972.

The SRCE Psychologists work within a collaborative framework with focus on implementation in the classroom/for programming.
Duties Include, but are not limited to:
coaching, co-teaching, consultation;
completion of psychological-educational assessments;
provision of counselling services;
provision of behavioral assessment and intervention services;
membership on the Regional Support Team (Crisis Response);
collaboration with school teams in the design, implementation and monitoring of educational programs and services;
provision of professional development to staff; and Regional Education Centre;
other duties as assigned by the Co-ordinator of Student Services.
This Regional School Psychology position will provide services to schools in the Strait Regional Centre for Education as determined by the Co-ordinator of Student Services, and needs identified in collaboration with regional and school-based personnel
- The base office for this position is to be determined;
- The circuit for this position will be confirmed in September 2019;
- NSBEP Supervision can be provided, if needed.
Masters' Degree in School Psychology or equivalent
Eligible for registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology
valid NS Drivers' License and access to a vehicle
Excellent communication skills
training and/or work experience in school settings;
knowledge and/or experience in implementing behaviour support programs (including classroom and student management skills);
knowledge and/or experience in implementing of coaching, co-teaching, consultation models;
knowledge of Response to Interventionmodel of support.
