We’re currently looking for a Manager, Corporate Taxation to join our team in Mississauga, Ontario .

This role will be responsible for supporting the NCI (Nissan Canada Inc.) Tax Department reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Taxation. The incumbent will be primarily responsible for preparation and assisting the Senior Manager, Corporate Taxation in managing all aspects of the NCI corporate income tax and commodity tax functions, including tax accounting, compliance, audits, planning and research. The incumbent will also provide tax advice to business partners on all income and commodity tax matters.

Job functions Include but are not limited to:
Review or assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly and year end tax provisions, including current and deferred tax analysis, tax rate reconciliations, account reconciliations, book to return adjustments, reporting packages and assist with coordinating the semi-annual and year-end tax provision audit with external auditors.

Manage the preparation and review of Canadian income tax and information returns for all Canadian entities including corporations, partnerships and trusts.
Coordinate and review monthly sales and excise tax returns. Assist with managing the indirect tax process for all Canadian entities, and support operational business units with all indirect tax matters.

Support and coordinate along with the Senior Manager, Corporate Taxation all income and indirect tax audits conducted by the Canada Revenue Agency and other provincial revenue authorities.

Support the Senior Manager, Corporate Taxation on tax planning initiatives, transfer pricing, budgeting, forecasting, transaction activities, identifying tax savings opportunities, treasury and payroll support.
Conduct tax research; summarize findings and writing technical memorandums as required along with monitoring, assessing the impact, and implementing legislative changes in all areas of Canadian tax.

Leads projects that improve processes, efficiencies and ensures internal control compliance with all company related policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:
University degree required in Accounting , Finance or Tax (Study in Business, Finance, Economics preferred) The incumbent must be a designated accountant (CPA, CA, CGA or CMA) Must have completed Part I and II of the CICA In-depth Tax Course (completion of In-depth GST/HST Course would be considered an asset).
Minimum of 7 to 10 years of income tax experience (automotive/retail industry with captive finance experience would be an asset), and 2-4 years of sales tax experience; excellent tax research skills; strong oral and written communication skills; strong working knowledge IFRS and U.S. GAAP accounting principles.
The incumbent must have previous experience with “client server based” (or “ERP systems”) financial systems (SAP experience would be an asset). Extensive experience and skill in the use of all MS based Office systems with special emphasis on Excel.
Coaching, counselling and people management skills. This position is also responsible for assisting the Senior Manager, Corporate Taxation in the management and development of the Senior Tax Analysts.
The incumbent is responsible for assisting the Senior Manager, Corporate Taxation in communicating risks, opportunities and proposing planning initiatives to senior executives.
