Our customer, a multinational confectionary company is looking for an experienced Maintenance Electrician – 309A.
This is a temporary contract.
Must be flexible to work 12-hour continental shifts both days and midnights.
Location: West Hamilton
I. BASIC PURPOSE
A. Responsible for maintaining and servicing plant electrical controls, motors and accessories and ensuring that the provision of the Canadian Electrical Code are observed in all electrical installations.
B. Key Organizational Relationships
Accountable to: Maintenance Shift Lead Hand
Directly supervises: None
II. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Report on time, especially during start-up, to support production on all electrical related concerns.
Ensure that equipment’s under his care are properly maintained and ready to run efficiently as per production schedule.
Troubleshoots and repairs electrical-related machines or automation components breakdown.
Execute preventive maintenance program for all motors and electrical controls.
Conduct inspection and testing of all electrically powered process machines or equipment.
Conduct preventive maintenance program for all electrical equipment’s.
Ensures that equipment is operational and electrical controls are functional at all times.
Involve in new equipment installation, set-up & commissioning
Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment: Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers, following electrical code and blueprints, using hand tools and voltage tester.
Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints, using hand tools and test equipment.
Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment, and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables, using hand tools.
Tests malfunctioning machinery, using test equipment, and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers, such as MACHINE REPAIRER, MAINTENANCE and TOOL MAKER, MAINTENANCE, to diagnose malfunction.
Replace faulty electrical components of machine, such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices, using hand tools.
Diagnose and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards.
May diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
Ensures that all materials & parts needed for the task meets the required standard specifications.
Coordinate with Supervisor on quality issues encountered.
Maintain QCMS and HACCP guidelines while working at the plant.
Conduct daily electrical inspection as plan on all process equipment’s
Analyzes equipment problem, identify root causes and institute solutions.
Comply to SDR (sanitary design review) requirements
Participate and involve in any quality related audits
Modifies to improve electrical lay-out or design of all process equipment’s
Fill in the Daily Maintenance Job Report.
Documents performed work in SAP .
Recommend productivity initiatives or improvement projects
Keep work area clean at all times.
Comply with all official Sanitation procedures and schedules.
Cleaning of all electrical panels
Compliance to tool cleaning procedures and other related procedures
Ensure that all electrical safety controls are operational.
Take all necessary precautions to ensure safety in his work area.
Ensure functionality of all electrical safety features of all equipment and/or systems at the plant.
Spearhead solutions to existing electrical safety problems.
Coordinates with Supervisors safety problems reported and ensure actions are identified to eliminate and/or substitute electrical safety risks. Adherence to LOTO implementation or practice as needed Participate/involve on any safety related programs or initiative
Tests machine before turning over to production for operation.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
Ensure proper endorsement of work status prior to leaving his post.
Performs other related function that may be assigned by immediate superior.

A. Education Graduate of College – Licensed electrician -309 A
B. Experience Four (4) years’ experience as electrician in an Industrial Food production facility or packaging Facility
