1-year employment contract with possibility of renewal

$23,800- $31,100 annual compensation range

We work in more than 60 communities across Alberta – either directly providing service or partnering with agencies help deliver our programs. Our work falls into three categories; direct service programs, capacity building and education and collective impact.

Our philosophy is to engage in curious, fierce conversations and collaborations and we see this as a path to ending domestic violence.

We are seeking an Event Coordinator to join our team. Under the supervision of the Operations Manager, this position is responsible for event coordination, fundraising and donor support. The successful candidate is a dependable self-starter who can juggle a number of tasks and projects and demonstrates versatility as part of a dynamic team.

Qualifications and Skills

Engage in curiosity and vulnerability (Brene Brown)
Personable and adept at building relationships
Post-Secondary Education Preferred
1-2 years of demonstrated performance in fundraising and event planning, preferably with a non-profitStrong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Positive, creative, self-motivated with attention to detail and quality
Outgoing and willing to engage with professionals, volunteers, and individuals within the community and throughout the region
Friendly attitude and ability to accept change and constructive feedback and prioritize multiple projects is vital
Strong communication and organizational skills
A valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle are required
Flexibility required, responsibilities will also include some evenings and weekends outside of normal working hours

Roles and Responsibilities

Event planning and coordination for 2-3 fundraising events, 2-3 large learning events, 5-6 small learning events
Recruit and manage vendors, including but not limited to: food vendors, stakeholders, guest speakers, volunteers
Support the Public Relations and Marketing team in event sponsorships, fundraising campaigns, contributions, tracks pledges, and assists with correspondence including report preparation
Attend all events and provide onsite coordination, support and direction
