Facility Details — Vernon Jubilee Hospital:
Vernon Jubilee Hospital is a 160 bed acute care hospital serving the growing communities within the North Okanagan region of approximately 80,000 residents. The new 230,000 square foot Polson Tower at VJH is a state-of-the-art facility with leading-edge technology and was built to Leadership in Energy and Environmental design gold standards. This new tower offers a new and expanded Emergency department, Intensive Care and Coronary Care units, new Women’s and Children’s Services department, new operating theatres and medical device reprocessing department. Vernon Jubilee Hospital is also a satellite teaching hospital for the medical program at the University of British Columbia Okanagan Campus. Practice Details:
You will be joining an onsite collegial group of 5 other pathologists (2 Anatomic, 3 General) and reporting to the Central Okanagan Medical laboratory Director. The laboratory staff are friendly and easy to work with. Your duties would include: participation in 15,000 surgical pathology cases /year, 180 bone marrow biopsies/year; 3,000 cytopathology cases/year, and 180 autopsy cases/year, quality assurance activities, and teaching of medical and laboratory students. Most services are covered under the provincial contract but additional fee for service billings are possible for bone marrows and coroner autopsies. We can provide strong mentorship for new grads and our team is flexible for scheduling arrangements.

Qualifications:
Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada (FRCPC)
Doctorate in Medicine
Full License with CPSBC; CMPA Coverage

Call Schedule:
Hours of work: 45 hrs/week
On call requirements: approx. 1 week in 6
