Position Summary

Do you have LPN experience in a community care setting? Are you a proven leader that wants to make an impact in the lives of others while working with an experienced and dedicated team? Interior Health is currently seeking casual Team Lead Home Support Services/Community Care Licensed Practical Nurses to join our team in Merritt at the Nicola Valley Health Centre.

Team Leader coordinates Home Support Services by supervising Licensed Practical Nurses (CCLPNs), Community Health Workers (CHWs) and other unregulated members of the team, overseeing the implementation of client care plans, providing training and evaluation of care provided by staff, and advocating for changes that improve client care.

In collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, performs assessments, makes nursing diagnosis, implements and provides personal and nursing care for clients in a community health setting. Provides nursing care within the LPN Standards of Practice as outlined by College of Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia and within employer policies, procedures, limits and conditions.

This is a Casual opportunity. Casual means there are no guaranteed hours and work requirements may vary from 0 - 37.5 hours per week. Once hired into a casual role, employees are eligible to apply for internal postings including permanent part-time or full time positions. There are many opportunities with Interior Health that begin with casual on-call positions and lead to regular employment.

Days of work will be rotating; Hours of work: 08:00 to 16:30.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience:
  • Graduation from a recognized program for Practical Nurses
  • One (1) year of recent, related acute care or long-term care experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Current full practicing licensure with the British Columbia College of Nursing Professionals (BCCNP) required.
  • Current valid BC Driver’s License.
