NMG, based in Newmarket, ON, manages strategic marketing groups for wholesale Distributors and Retailers (www.newmarketgroup.com). Since 1978, NMG has provided industry leadership to focus the sales & marketing activities of our members on Manufacturers and Suppliers who offer programs to our groups. These programs deliver significant revenue and profitability to our Members as they build the sales & market share of our Manufacturer and Supplier partners.

NMG currently manages groups in five industries: foodservice food & disposable products, industrial disposable supplies, restaurant equipment & supplies, industrial tools & safety supplies, and lighting & electrical products.

Over 750 wholesale Distributors and Retailers across North America are Members of NMG’s groups with total annual sales of $9 billion.

NMG’s groups have programs with over 500 leading Manufacturers and Suppliers.

NMG is seeking a talented and self-motivated individual to join our team as a Sales & Marketing Manager, Foodservice Group. Extensive training will be provided on all aspects of group operations. The Sales and Marketing Manager will learn business "from the ground up."

Responsibilities:

Work with senior team members to:

  • Negotiate and maintain all Supplier Programs and Promotions
  • Manage and enhance relationships with existing Suppliers and Distributors
  • Develop partnerships with new Suppliers and new Distributors
  • Create, implement and execute the Strategic Plan, Marketing Plans and Annual Buying Show, Sales Conferences and Budgets

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years relevant work experience
  • University Degree
  • Well organized and detail oriented
  • Strong financial acumen
  • Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel skills (formulas, functions, etc...), MS PowerPoint, MS Word*
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Outgoing personality with desire to succeed in a sales environment
  • Ability to travel freely within Canada and the USA (approximately 4-6 weeks annually once business travel begins again)
