The George Spady Center presently has openings for one (1) full time Crisis Workers.The full time positions that will be on a rotating 4 on / 4 off overnight schedule 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.
This position involves direct clients contact in numerous sites including our Permanent Supportive Housing, Overnight Shelter and Detox programs. The successful candidate will have strong crisis intervention skills, a good understanding of harm reduction, trauma informed practice and person centered care.
Responds to the demand of emergency situations and crisis’ as needed
Provides crisis intervention, support and assistance to clients and onsite teams as well as monitoring and referrals to appropriate community organizations and support networks
Develops safety, prevention and client engagement plans as part of a care team
Basic crisis counseling and follow up
Assists with regular operational duties
Minimum College or University degree in Humanities. (Relevant experience may be excepted in place of noted education requirements)
Professional educated people must be in good standing with relevant governing bodies.
Strong trauma informed knowledge base
Current First Aid and CPR
Crisis Intervention Training
Ability to work shift work, weekends, nights and holidays
Knowledge of the intersection of issues of mental health, addictions, poverty and trauma
Must have a valid driver's license and own transportation with relevant insurance
A current criminal record check for Vulnerable Sector
