Program Advisor, Registered Practical Nursing Refresher

Role Profile

This leadership position supports the growth of Continuing Education within the assigned sector through program planning, contract training, consulting services, and partnership management. The Program Advisor is responsible for new program development, community liaison and quality control within the assigned field of expertise. The Advisor will be expected to identify new program opportunities, create/modify courses and programs and activities to meet the ever-changing needs of individual learners, the healthcare industry, and the community.

As a representative of the College, the Program Advisor will utilize excellent judgment to develop credible and meaningful relationships with industry partners and / or the community ensuring strictest confidentiality. They will work closely with the CE Director to identify opportunities and resolve concerns. The Advisor handles multiple responsibilities, solves complex problems and provides support and mentoring to the Continuing Education Instructors, ensuring consistency with the mission and vision of the College and teaching and learning excellence.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

The successful candidate will have a degree (a Master's is preferred) and be a regulated health professional with the College of Nurses Ontario.

Experience

Three years of teaching in a Post-Secondary institution with the ability to de-escalate and resolve high-stress/conflict situations. The incumbent should also currently be practicing in the applicable regulated health profession.
