If you’re an SAP FI, CO and S/4HANA Finance specialist with proven team and project leadership skills, and you welcome the opportunity to lead and design SAP S/4 HANA Finance solutions, consider joining the IT Division as a Senior Systems Integrator IT (SAP Finance Lead).
In this position, reporting to the Manager, SAP Solution Planning and Delivery, you may be assigned to work with a project manager and/or lead teams implementing S/4HANA Finance solutions.
Your primary responsibilities as an SAP Finance Lead will be varied. More specifically, you will:
Provide leadership in the area of SAP FI, CO and SAP S/4 HANA Finance Solutions
Manage the day-to-day work plan of SAP FI, CO and SAP S/4 HANA Finance solutions
Supervise the day-to-day work output of staff and resources, including scheduling, assigning and reviewing work tasks to ensure a continuing, consistent service by sustaining complex, critical enterprise business applications, architectures and information
Maintain FI, CO and SAP S/4 HANA Finance solutions across multiple system landscapes
Lead the establishment of corporate SAP FI, CO and SAP S/4 HANA Finance policies and procedures, and coordinate with the business and technical users to ensure adherence to policies and procedures
Lead business application design, configuration, development and unit testing to ensure application designs meets business needs and is compliant to SAP SDLC or SAP Activate best practices
Lead in identifying and evaluating project requirements, analyze and recommend feasible options, design, develop and/or acquire, test, and implement applications, and sustain SAP solutions to meet business requirements and divisional needs
Recommend, implement and practice on development/configuration, privacy and quality assurance requirements consistent with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA), legislation and corporate standards regarding storage retention and processing of confidential corporate and application data and information outputs
Lead multidisciplinary business and technical teams from across the Corporation to formulate and execute project schedules and tasks according to established project management principles and methodologies (i.e., SAP Activate)
Lead appropriate system staff through the development life cycle to produce scalable, sustainable and standards-compliant departmental and corporate solutions, in conformance with the current enterprise architecture and infrastructure, at both business and information technology levels
Provide project budget and financial management such as sole source requests; contract negotiations; leasing agreements; business cases; feasibility and cost/benefit analysis
Identify and develop cross divisional initiatives to produce synergies and economies of scale
Negotiate with senior management, clients and various stakeholders often with competing and conflicting goals, objectives and priorities.
Provide assessments and recommendations of new technology trends on the effective use, acquisition and integration of technology by the City.
Participate in effective recommendations with respect to project work assignments, and provide input into performance appraisals and disciplinary action
Participate in sustaining and improving corporate infrastructures, methodologies, tools, techniques and standards, and ensure their conformance and adherence in daily practice among business and technical teams
Develop and/or apply complex business and application models, information structures, custom application specifications, database schemas, network and application interfaces as governed by architectural frameworks, technology standards, information policies and legislative requirements
Lead junior/intermediate SAP FI, CO and SAP S/4 HANA Finance teams through coaching, mentoring and conducting regular application design and code reviews
Lead various stages of projects, manage project team members and resources, and report progress to project managers, stakeholders and team members, ensuring successful delivery of solutions through proper coordination, issue management, change management, resource management, budget control, quality assurance, migration planning, contingency measures and risk mitigation
Communicate effectively and in a timely manner to stakeholders, clients, project managers, supervisors and team members any business and technical decisions and actions that may impact solution delivery, staff performance, business processes, management workflow and technical support of public services
Lead/facilitate meetings, prepare and deliver presentations and/or reports
Participate in, and contribute to, as required, corporate and cross-divisional initiatives to design, construct and implement business and technical solutions, such as business intelligence or other initiatives
Analyze, and recommend changes to, current business practices, business and information processes, data flows, performance measures, information delivery and knowledge utilization toward a more efficiently managed and coherently integrated information environment for all departments in the City
Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of RFIs, RFPs, RFQs and other formal project documents (SOWs, MOUs, business cases, project charters, SLAs)
Provide leadership in the evaluation, selection and recommendation of technical solutions and professional services, managing vendors and contractors in the overall solution delivery process
Lead the SAP FI, CO, and SAP S/4 HANA Finance solutions configuration and development teams in adhering to defect management processes, using HP QC and Change Management, Service Request Management, Incident Management in Solution Manager
Your application for the role of Senior Systems Integrator IT (SAP Finance Lead) should describe your qualifications as they relate to:
University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline and/or experience working on large-scale information technology projects, or the approved equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Extensive experience as an SAP Finance Lead, including experience in SAP FI, CO, and SAP S/4 HANA Finance.
Extensive leadership experience with FI, CO, and S/4 HANA Finance functional requirements analysis, design, configurations, implementations and integration with other SAP ECC modules (e.g., HR, FM, MM, SD, PM, RE).
Experience with S/4 HANA implementations.
Strong knowledge is required in following SAP Finance areas: General Ledger, Asset Accounting, Accounts Payables, Accounts Receivables, Financial Organizational Structures and Master Data, Controlling functions, Internal and External Financial Management Reporting and Analytics.
Knowledge of SAP FI, CO and S/4 HANA security models, and role based permissions.
Ability to analyze SAP FI, CO and S/4 HANA solution issues in order to recommend immediate resolutions and the most effective approach to their implementation.
Ability to prepare, organize and present business cases, proposals, solutions and budgets, or similar formal documents and statements, to various audiences, including stakeholders, clients and the public.
Highly skilled in the use of project management tools (ASAP or Activate methodology preferred), applying methods and standards, estimating and tracking time and efforts, allocating and deploying resources, with a proven track record in successfully completing projects according to an established methodology.
Excellent interpersonal skills to work independently and collaboratively with others in a multidisciplinary team setting.
Business acumen and a strong customer service orientation to establish and maintain effective consulting relationships with clients and vendors.
Effective teamwork, facilitation, communications, conflict resolution, problem solving, crisis management and team leadership/supervision in projects, assignments and service engagements.
Certification in SAP S/4 HANA Finance will be an asset
Familiarity with government legislation in the area of Occupational Health and Safety.
