What YOU Will Do

Oversee enterprise insurance program placement, surety placement, project specific coverage, insurable claims and loss control.
Implement and manage Subcontractor Default Insurance program (SDI/Subguard) including management of subcontractor prequalification process.
Review and analyze owner-controlled insurance programs (OCIP).
Interact with operational groups to identify, understand and analyze insurable risks and potential mitigation opportunities and ensure coordination between project activities, exposures and appropriate insurance coverage.
Provide expert advice, consultation, education and strategic direction on insurance and loss control programs, polices, standards, guidelines and methodologies keeping abreast of emerging and best practice trends.
Make recommendations for improvements to overall insurance and loss control program and practices, proactively managing issues.
Review and analyze loss control and trending reports, coordinate training and loss control programs.
Manage relationships with third party service providers (i.e.: brokers, insurers, claim experts, project Owners, etc.).
Oversee all aspects of contract review related to risk, insurance and surety issues, including coordination with Legal Department.

What YOU Will Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Law required;
10+ years related industry experience, preferably in brokerage and construction risk with strong knowledge of general construction practices and provisions of construction contracts,
10+ years’ experience buying and managing a portfolio of construction insurance, surety program and subcontractor default insurance program
At least 5 years of people management experience,
CRM and/or CIP designation preferred,
Strong analytical skills, both financial and qualitative,
Strong interpersonal and communication skills,
Effective time management skills,
Bilingualism required both orally and in writing (English and French)
