IBI Groups Edmonton office is seeking an Intermediate/Senior Interior Designer looking to grow their career. As part of our thriving interiors team, you will be working closely with the entire group in a collaborative, integrated, and dynamic work environment. Our interiors practice focuses on a wide range of projects from Commercial and Institutional to Education and High-Rise Residential. Our Interiors team provide support to the Architecture team on larger projects and also leads our own stand-alone interior projects. We are a fun and hardworking team that supports career growth at all levels. The right person must be open and eager to take on new challenges and work in a team environment.
Most of the things you’ll work on:
Assist/ Lead the management of projects from beginning to end
Participate in project meetings and client interface
Lead the preparation and review of contract documents, including floor plans, finishes plans, reflected ceiling plans, power and communication plans, interior elevations, millwork sections and details, schedules, general notes and information, all which must comply with Building Code
Assist with field observation and documentation analysis during construction process
Uphold integrity and commitment in production of quality work
Review drawings and specifications for accuracy, omissions, errors, and legibility
You'll need to have:
Post-secondary diploma or degree in Interior Design
Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in interior design and/or architecture, primarily in commercial design
High proficiency with AutoCAD is mandatory, experience with Revit considered an asset
Ability to communicate to clients, liaise with senior Interior Designers and Architects in the firm
Experience with Interior Design drawing package production and industry standards, including all relevant plans, elevations, details, schedules and information
Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, complete, and legible drawings
Familiarity with local Building Codes
Understanding of interior design principles and theory
Experience in programming, planning principles, materials and furnishings.
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch Up and/or other rendering programs considered an asset
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point
Experience in project management and client interface
The Edmonton office is located in the downtown core area close to the LRT with multiple restaurants and two gym's across the road from the building.
