Report to the Director, Information Systems, the Systems Administrator is responsible for the day to day requirements of the IS functions at Ocean Wise. Routine duties would involve performing desktop and user support (software and hardware); providing network support, installation and troubleshooting; maintaining inventory control; performing IP Phone and voicemail maintenance; and providing Windows Active Directory user maintenance service including Exchange Mailboxes and file server.
Provide maintenance and support for computer network and servers by:
Desktop support on Microsoft Windows and MacOS Desktops, including and deploying system images;
Creating and updating user and system documentation, processes and procedures in Atlassian Confluence;
User software support for Windows, Office, line of business applications, mobile devices and cloud applications;
Point of Sale systems support including payment hardware and ticketing/retail applications;
Accurate and timely Software and Hardware Inventory Control;
User account maintenance using Active Directory, Office 365, line of business applications and PBX/Voicemail;
Administrating end-user telephony devices and associated voicemail accounts in Cisco Unity and Call manager;
Communicate effectively and efficiently with staff across the organization;
AV Systems support including microphones, mixers and projectors;
General hardware and systems maintenance;
Other related IT services, as required.
Help with planning and implementing new IS infrastructure services as required by:
Providing feedback for improvements for the use of the present systems and equipment;
Working with the Director of IS to plan and implement new systems and technologies as required.
Other duties and responsibilities as needed, including but not limited to:
Providing A/V, infrastructure and application support for Catering & Events (both after hours and during normal operation) as needed;
Participating in cross-training developmental opportunities with the other members of the IS group;
Providing IS support for all other technologies, including A/V technologies, in use at the organization, as needed.
Ensuring that Ocean Wise staff can make the best use of their computer resources by providing technical support and user training;
Consciously desires to improve the Ocean Wise and its processes by:

Education and Experience:
Technical college diploma in computer / information systems, or equivalent;
Minimum three years technical and systems management experience required;
Intermediate Microsoft system/network administration;
Intermediate Network Administration (Switches, Firewalls, Routers, VLan, QOS, POE and Wireless);
A strong aptitude for networking, servers, desktops and software;
Solid working knowledge of Windows Desktops (Windows 10 and 7), Windows Server 2016/2019, Active Directory, Exchange mailbox management, Microsoft Office, Office 365 Applications;
Experience with POS systems, virtual system, and A/V systems preferred.

The incumbent will work in a shared office environment with the usual ergonomic risks;
Flexibility and availability in schedule are required during the week, including evenings, weekends and holidays. Weekend work will be required;
Some work at heights is required (training to be provided as necessary);
Job will require the ability to safety reach, stretch and bend on a regular basis;
Frequent lifting, standing and walking required.
